Excavation work taking place at our plot. I also had a video of this but could’t find the right format to put it here so photo it is.
The month of July was a well deserved holiday month for us. It was exceptionally sunny and hot. At the plot it was also good time to wait that the soil dries a bit before the excavation work (maanrakennustyöt). Finally they were done in three different phases during the whole month. We were lucky to have such a great company to work for us (Rakennuspalvelu Mika Roos).
In the middle of the excavation work, pile driving (paalutus) took place. The ground survey already indicated that we would need a lot of piles. The house and the carage took 31 piles and all together almost 400 meters of it – that is a lot! Thank you for Maanrakennus Kotisalo for a great job done.
Excavation work and pile driving were not included to the price of the prefab house package so it was an opportunity to save some money. I sent altogether 12 requiries for offers to excavation work and 5 offers for pile driving. The price range in the offers for excavation work for 30 000e so one can really save something by just sending few mails. The excellent base for offers was of course done by our excellent foreman (vastaava mestari).
